As aforementioned, I saw James Blake for the first time on Wednesday night, and as expected it was an amazing set. Technically a bit messy but in terms of tunes and mood it was incredible. Amongst other highlights (a 'Ghetto Music' remix; the original 'Stop What You're Doing') he dropped this massive tune, originally released on the flip-side to Joker's 'Digidesign'. Soulful, pitchshifted vocals and a eerie repeated synth motif battle over the top of a solid, repetitive percussive part constitute to what is one of the most original tracks showcased on Hyperdub's 5.
