It's hard to imagine now, but Patrick Wolf once wrote two fantastic albums. Now the country's most overblown, pompous diva, Wolf started out creating warped 'folktronica', and after the catchiness of London-based debut Lycanthropy he decamped to Cornwall and wrote Wind In The Wires. This track is from his sophomore, a mature, organic sounding album that showed a progression which was to be followed by a staggering regression into electro-pop nonsense. It's a real shame, but thankfully his first two albums still exist to show what could have been.
