WEEK EIGHTEEN: Day 124 - Day 130

Day 130: Love King by The-Dream

The-Dream is the uncredited king of modern R'n'B. Co-writer and co-producer of songs such as Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' and Rihanna's 'Umbrella', he's also crafted two incredible albums of his own with his production partners 'Tricky' Stewart and L.O.S. Da Mystro - debut Love Hate and sophomore Love Vs. Money. This is the title track from his upcoming third album, and it is fucking incredible. All the YouTube clips seem to be a little bit chopped 'n' skrewed, but they'll do until the album drops on June 22nd.

Day 129: I Didn't Understand by Elliott Smith

Not much to say about this one, apart from it's one of the most beautiful, affecting songs I have ever heard.

Day 128: Boa Vs. Python by Test Icicles

Loved this band when I was a young, impressionable teenager. Haven't exactly aged that well. Neither has this song.

Day 127: Watching The Detectives by Elvis Costello

Elvis Costello can pretty much dominate any style he chooses to try his hand at.

Day 126: Still Dope by staHHr

Technically a joint off DOOM's Born Like This, it's effectively a staHHr (or Empress Sharhh, or any one of her aliases) tune with DOOM production. And it's one of the best female MC tracks I've heard in a long time.

Day 125: When I Look At You by Emalkay

An undeniably massive tune.

Day 124: Storytelling by Funeral For A Friend

Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation was instrumental in shaping my music taste, and this was always my favourite track off it. Shame they went to shit so rapidly after this record.
